Le Recoin, is a delightful three bedroom cottage, sleeps 6. Spacious with fresh interiors the owners have made every effort to ensure you have a fantastic holiday. Open plan ground floor with modern kitchen, seating area (UK tv channels) WIFI throughout. Large dining table for relaxed family meals. Upstairs there are two kingsize bedrooms and one twin bedroom. Family bathroom with bath, freestanding shower, basin & toilet. The cottage is airy and spacious and enjoys great views of the countryside. Within walking/cycling distance of the village (bar, post office, fresh baguettes and croissants) and 5mins drive from the Spa Town of Jonzac (restaurants, shopping etc). 20mins to Cognac, an hour from the coast, La Rochelle, Bordeaux. Easy reach of St Emilion, Blaye, Medoc, Saintes, Angouleme, Ile de Re, Ile D'Oleron - too many to mention! Shared heated swimming pool (we have other cottages on site at La Cannonerie). The swimming pool is shared with other gîtes on site. TV channels are in English.

Summary: It was beautifully furnished and looked lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool which although shared, we often had to ourselves. Location was gorgeous in the midst of vineyards and sunflower fields. However, there were cobwebs everywhere when we arrived and the bedroom furniture needed tightening up with allen keys (or replacing). It was a shame the shutters were no longer on the windows as we could not keep the bedrooms cool and then I found we had a plastic lined matress cover which increased the heat! There was also a pipe from the sewage tank which was just by our outside table and a few times, there was a nasty smell.
