Set on a hillside the property enjoys panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and Parapanda Mountain. A beautiful and perfectly situated for exploring the real Andalucia and just a short drive to the historic town of Montefrio, featured in National Geographic as no4 in the top ten villages with the most spectacular views, in the world!
Casa Miguel has been sympathetically and beautifully restored and retains many original features such as beamed ceilings and stone floors. Thick walls keep the inside of the house cool during the summer months and warm in the winter. The house has Moroccan style decor in keeping with this historic area.
The front door opens into a well equipped traditional Spanish kitchen/diner which leads through into the cosy living room with wood burner. Stairs give access to a double bedroom with Spanish bed and then through into a twin bedroom which has separate access via the upper terrace. The upper terrace has stunning 360 degree views and overlooks the pool. Steps lead back down to the front of the house. The third, double bedroom with en-suite is accessed via the main terrace. The main bathroom is situated on the ground floor.
At the front of Casa Miguel is a shaded area perfect for dining alfresco and appreciating the expansive views over the olive groves to the mountain opposite. A low gate leads down steps to a shaded seating area.
The private pool is situated to the side of the house through a gateway where you will find plenty of space for sunbathing, barbequing etc. You will also find a poolside lounge perfect for escaping the midday sun.

Summary: This beautifully restored rustic property shows how much the owners Jane and Mick care about providing a quiet, restful, authentic experience for their guests. Nestled up in the mountains, you have a panoramic view of valleys and hills dotted with olive groves, small farmsteads and forests. After spending 10 days on the touristy Mediterranean coast, we loved the quiet beauty at Casa Miguel. This property made a great hub for visiting the fascinating city of Cordoba, but we also tremendously enjoyed hiking the hills surrounding the property and visiting the nearby villages of Montefrio and Alcala La Real (don't miss the castle tour). We also enjoyed just lounging around the various terraces and the pool of the property. Nights were cool, but we had a beautiful wood stove to keep the house cozy. The rustic nature of the house is part of its charm! Can't say enough about Jane and Mick. They were great hosts, never intrusive but very welcoming and ready to help.
