This charming two level hay-loft turned farmhouse is perfect for families with children, or couples who want to get away from it all.
The downstairs open space has a spacious kitchen which is fully equipped with new appliances and has seating for up to 4 people and the living room with the comfortable sofas and characteristic stone fireplace, all lead out to the garden through french doors.
The upstairs has been deliberately thought out as a loft and open space with a large bedroom and bathroom with shower. A double bedroom with twin beds and a private bathroom with shower en suite is also at the ground floor.
The Fienile at the hamlet of Castelrotto is one of the villa part of Castelnuovo Tancredi Estate strategically positioned for any day trips and excursions to the surrounding towns. Just a short 30 minute drive to Pienza, or Siena and a hop skip and a jump to Montalcino which rests on the nearby hilltop and can be seen during the day and night from the garden. A 18- hole golf course it just across the valley and visible from this house.
We will be happy to organize a visit and tasting of our wine and olive oil production at our historical cantina upon request.

Summary: After the bustle of Florence, and a larger Agriturismo with many guests, it was lovely to come to Violante's beautiful property in the country. The apartment is located with a view of olive groves and a lovely pool. The property is simply but adequately furnished, with air conditioning and plenty of room. One thing to note is that the only local grocery store has limited hours. It closes at 8:30 most nights, and 1:00 pm on Sundays. You may wish to shop for provisions before arrival, because it is so lovely once you get there you won't want to venture out to the store again in the evening. The property had salt, sugar and coffee when we arrived, so plan on supplying everything else. Violante and her team were very gracious hosts, and we loved the bottle of wine from the estate that was waiting on our arrival. We would definitely stay here again!
