This is a brand new architect designed custom house that sits on an amazing property on the road going to the famous La Fortuna waterfall. Exotic woods, granite counter tops, expansive patio areas, very large pool and water gardens are just some of the details that you will enjoy when you come to spend time at this special retreat. The pool is the most elegant private pool in the area. Only 4 mins. to the center of La Fortuna, but it has the feeling of being in the country side with views into the forest with toucans and other friendly wildlife in residence.
While the house could accommodate 8-10 people we limit the max to 5 guest so that everyone has plenty of space, unlike most properties in the area that claim to accommodate many people in a limited space this luxury property is meant to be enjoyed by max. 5 people.

We can arrange for local excursions and assist with all your travel plans including transport to the house from anywhere in the country. We also offer discounts on all local activities and arrange for pick up at the villa for all of your excursions - white water rafting, zip lining, hiking in the national park etc.
This gives you the option of not having to rent a vehicle and eliminating the stress of driving. The center of Fortuna is only a mile from the house and is a $4 taxi ride if you want to go for shopping or dining, etc, Uber is also an option.

Costa Rica is a small country, with a small population. The further you travel from San Jose, the population decreases drastically, making La Fortuna an ideal location to social distance. Nearby, here are both public and private healthcare systems for tourists and visitors that can be utilized depending on the individual’s health insurance. Moreover, paying out of pocket is significantly less expensive than in much of the Western world. Summary: If you like to cook, do not stay here. Very few items, not even a bowl to make pancake batter in. All glassware was mismatched and cloudy. Dog hair galore. It did not look like it had been professionally cleaned in some time. Cobwebs and dust all over. Only one bedroom has AC and the owner tretty much told us we shouldn’t have to run it. It was 90 degrees during the day and only got down to the mid 70’s at night. It was miserable not having AC in the whole house. The owner made a joke that the listing didn’t say it had AC but also didn’t say it didn’t. The house itself was beautiful with all the woodwork. The bathrooms need to be updated but they weren’t terrible. There is ZERO view of the volcano. The listing needs to be updated with new pictures for sure.The owner lives in a very small structure that sits in the front yard. It had a green fence in front of it. That setup is very weird. Get rid of that structure, have more ac units installed and professionally cleaned and I absolutely wouldn’t mind staying there again. Normally I would buy a rental house a few pieces to keep (like a much needed mixing bowl) but the house is on the market and the stay was just pretty miserable with the heat. Other times of the year I’m sure it’s fine. But when it’s hot like that, he really needs to let people know.
