A little history:
The Saint-Pierre district is considered to be the birthplace of Bordeaux. It was only natural that this former Gallo-Roman port, which would become a medieval city, should take the name of the patron saint of fishermen. In the 12ᵉ century, the port was filled in. The ramparts of the walled city fell in the 18ᵉ, with the development of the Place de la Bourse. What remained was the defensive Cailhau Gate, 35 metres high, and pedestrian or semi-pedestrian lanes whose names recall the district's commercial and craft vocation: rue des Argentiers, rue des Bahutiers, or rue du Chai des Farines. In the 16ᵉ century, the district was also populated by bourgeois families around the church of Saint-Rémi.

Summary: The host greeted us as soon as we arrived. He explained everything to us about the apartment. The bed was comfortable, the shower was nice, and the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. The spiral stone staircase to get into the apartment is narrow, but we managed without any problems.
