Alepou Mansion is a lovely neoclassical mansion situated in the suburbs of Corfu town,just a 6-min.drive to the town and its beaches and a 14-min.drive to the lovely west coast beaches.The mansion is very luminous and spacious with 5 bedrooms(4 bedrooms including the masterbedroom are on the first floor and 1 double bedroom on the ground floor,all bedrooms have air conditioning),4 bathroom,1 WC,a large kitchen,a very large sitting room with a billiard table and a piano,a dining room with a 12-person table and a lovely wooden ceiling painted by a well known greek decoratrice and byzantine icon painter,a large working room and a store room where the washing machine and the tumble dryer are located.
The mansion combines timeless elegance and convenience as it was first built around 1900 and completely renovated by its current owners(during the last renovation that was completed in September 2014 a lovely infinity pool was also added) with a lot of love,care and respect.The mansion's architecture and afrescos in beautiful Pompei style(also used in Achilleion,the famous Palace of Sissi Empress of Austria located in Gastouri Corfu) designed by the italian architect to whom the design and the supervision of the construction of the mansion was assigned by the descendents of a rich and noble family back in 1900 have all been preserved.Furthermore the high quality materials and furnitures,the lush gardens,the nice views and the lovely infinity pool create a comfortable and relaxing environmet.

Summary: This is a beautiful house and the owners could not do enough to make our stay as pleasant as possible, starting with a delightful display of fruit, bread and wine on the kitchen table and other essentials in the fridge. It is excellently maintained by the maid who comes three times a week; the cooking facilities, including an inbuilt barbecue, are excellent and there are a variety of lovely sites, both inside and out, for communal meals. The areas outside are most attractive and beautifully planted and there are lovely views leading to the sea in the distance. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars to this beautiful property is that it failed to let potential renters know that it is not really suitable for young children or the disabled/infirm. Whilst the charming owners lived in the house as a family home for 35 years and children were brought up there, there are too many valued artefacts on display that could be damaged by holidaying children (and adults)! The pool area, delightful in itself, is not safe for non-swimmers which could easily be made safe. In addition, it is a house of steps: totally unsuitable for the disabled and difficult for the less than able which should be made clear in the description. On the whole, though, a lovely destination.
