Positive: The flat is in a good location, roughly 10-15 mins walk from the beach and centre of Calella, and has plenty of street parking outside (as of the beginning of June, peak season might differ). It is in a building complex that is nice, with an awesome pool and tennis courts. They clearly put money and effort into maintaining it. There's a sweet balcony that gets plenty of morning light and it's lovely to eat breakfast on, hearing the birds - however it is near a busy road so you can also hear traffic. The kitchen has all the utensils cook for yourself while you are there. The flat was very clean and tidy.
Negative: Although the flat is outdated, it's not really a negative per se - however the beds need updating quite urgently and the furnishings smelled bad. All furnishings within the flat had a bad / off odour. The ironing board made our clean clothes smell bad. The sofa had stains and smelled off - looked like the cover would be easily removable. They are tiny beds - we slept on the double bed and as a 5'7 woman, I could really lie straight as my feet would stick out. The blankets and wardrobes also need updating - they smelt awful; dank, like they have been shut away for 50 years. It was chilly at night and we were unable to use the blankets due to the terrible smell. Which leads me to the sheets. Be aware you will have to pay 8Euros PER PERSON for what will be essentially really two really old, bobbly sheets. No summer duvet or throw so you will have to use those old blankets if you get cold, which as of the beginning of June it was (at night). You will also have to pay 8 euros per person for towels! You get given a washing up sponge and a kitchen cloth - no dish soap, no kitchen towels, no kitchen roll, no bin liners, no laundry soap (even though there's a washing machine). You also get given the tiniest amount of shower gel and one tiny and very shoddy toilet roll. No hand soap. We stayed for a week - none of those things were enough by far. It was a bit of a joke to be honest. With the above said, be prepared to either bring everything with you or invest on a trip to the supermarket and proceed to leave everything behind - which we did. I just hope at least the next guests get to use what we brought. There is also NO WIFI in the apartment, you have to pay per day if you want wifi. The listing does say this but mentioning here in case you missed it. It was two of us staying there but it might be a challenge for a group of 3 or 4. The bathroom is tiny and although ok for us it might be a struggle for more people.
