The Space:
Pelican Bay is an impeccably decorated apartment in Carolina that includes a Saluspa hot tub, AC throughout the property, coffee bar, washer and dryer, and a full kitchen. The apartment can sleep up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms. Pelican Bay’s location can’t be beat; it is just 5 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes away from some of the best beaches in the metro area.
IMPORTANT: The pool man has to access the apartment every Thursday to clean the spa. No exceptions. Guests do not need to be at the property for this. There are security cameras at the entrance of the property.
LIVING AREAS
Pelican Bay has a living room with a large flat screen TV, comfortable sofa, air conditioning, and direct access to the kitchen which has an island with stools. Adjacent to the living room is a family room with a very cute coffee bar and a comfortable chaise lounge for relaxing. There is also a cozy terrace with an outdoor dining table and a Saluspa hot tub.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
The master bedroom has a queen bed and direct access to the terrace and Saluspa. The 2nd bedroom has a full bed and the third bedroom has two twin beds. All bedrooms have AC.
KITCHEN
Pelican Bay offers a full kitchen with a fridge, stovetop, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker.
GETTING AROUND
We strongly recommend renting a car when staying at Pelican Bay but you could make do using Uber. The apartment includes one (1) parking spot.
LOCATION
Pelican Bay is located Carolina, Puerto Rico. The apartment is 10 minutes from the airport and within striking distance to some of the best activities the island has to offer. Here are some of our favorites.
Visit Isla Verde Beach. This is one of the best urban beaches in the Caribbean and is less than 10 minutes away. It offers chair and umbrella rentals, jet ski rentals, and multiple restaurant options within walking distance.
Visit Piñones. A rustic beach town that is 10 minutes from the apartment and offers various beaches, restaurants and bars that are lined up along an oceanfront road that spans for miles.
Shop at The Mall of San Juan. This mall is a 10-minute drive from the apartment and has excellent shops and dining options.
Explore the El Yunque Rainforest. El Yunque is an easy 30-minute drive from the property and is the only rainforest under US Flagship.
Spend a day in Old San Juan. Pelican Bay is a 15 min drive away from the oldest city in all of the US. There is a lot of history and great food and drinks to savor.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, especially during the peak months of Hurricane Season, which are July to October. Travel insurance is inexpensive and will reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, this will depend on what the coverage purchased covers. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase. Disclaimer: we are not associated with any travel insurance companies.
AMENITIES
West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.
West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay.
HOUSE RULES
Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
Check-out time is at 11:00 am
NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please keep noise levels down during these hours out of respect to the neighbors.
The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service. If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
All bookings are contingent on signing a short term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
Maximum occupancy of 6 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors.
Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.
Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged.
Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule.
