Walnut Cottage is a charming 2 bed/1 bath home located in the heart of Old Town Windsor. It is equipped with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing trip with plenty of space to spread out. Relax inside in the spacious living / dining area, enjoy that morning cup of coffee on the porch swing in the front sunroom, or have fun with the many books and board games we have available!
From the owners: what do you love about your home?
We love the charming style of our updated 1930’s home! The location is perfect and gives walking access to many fantastic local attractions. One of our favorite places to spend time is Windsor Lake, which has a playground, beach, and 2.7 mile path around the lake. It’s a great place to take kids! There are also concerts, food truck nights, and a farmer’s market over the summer that are a lot of fun to visit. There are lots of great restaurants in town, but our favorite is grabbing a burger at Hearth or hanging out at Coffee House 29. We hope you enjoy your stay at our place!
NOTE: The basement apartment (separate, private entrance & locks) is occupied. Quiet hours are 10pm to 9am, but noise during the day has never been an issue for us either. Just don't be surprised to hear some noises below.
We are located remotely but will be happy to connect with you via email, text, or phone any time to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay. We also have local resources standing by if needed.
The Neighborhood:
Located just about 1 hour north of Denver, Windsor is the gem of Northern Colorado. While still keeping a small town feel, it boasts premier restaurants, bars, entertainment and event centers. It’s a short drive to Fort Collins, Greeley, and Loveland, and is close to I-25 which gives easy access to Denver, Cheyenne, and Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.
Whether you’re here to enjoy a sporting event at Power 2 Play or the Future Legends Complex, wanting to check out the plethora of local microbreweries, looking for easy access to the mountains or Windsor’s large trail network, or proximity to CSU or UNC, Windsor has you covered.

Guests will have access to everything that our home has to offer: cozy furnishings, towels, linens, WiFi, and the front sunroom. The kitchen, all living & sleeping areas are available for your full use.
Note that guests have access to the front yard, but the back yard is reserved for the tenants in our basement apartment.
Free parking is available on the street in front of the house.
Walnut Cottage is a charming 2 bedroom/1 bathroom home located in the heart of Old Town Windsor. This 1500-sq. ft. home can sleep up to 5 guests. It is equipped with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing trip with plenty of space to spread out. In addition to the two bedrooms, there is a large open living area with plenty of seating and a dining table, a fully equipped kitchen, and a quaint front porch with a swing. The second bedroom is also set up as an office with a desk/workstation and printer, so it’s the perfect place to work from “home” while you’re traveling. You will find careful attention to guest needs, from a pack-n-play and high chair, to board games, playing cards, and books to enjoy while relaxing in the evening.
Windsor is close to many of Northern Colorado’s best attractions. You’ll be within walking distance of local parks and bike/walking paths. For sporting events, the Budweiser Event Center, Power 2 Play and the Future Legends Complex are all a short drive away. If you enjoy golfing, you’ll be less than a 15 minute trip from Highland Meadows Golf Course, Raindance Resort (opening July 2022), Pelican Lakes Resort, Ptarmigan Country Club, and Harmony Golf Club.
A grocery store is just 5 minutes away. If you choose to dine out, there are plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby in Windsor. Windsor is 1 hour away from Denver and Estes Park, and a 30 minute drive from Old Town Fort Collins.
Kitchen:
The kitchen has all you will need for preparing and serving meals, including full-size appliances. There are supplies for cooking and baking, including cookware, utensils and knives. You’ll also find dishes and glassware, child-friendly cups and dishes, microwave, blender, toaster, crock pot, and spices. Coffee is provided as well as an Aeropress and a drip coffee maker.
Washer & Dryer: we have a single washer/dryer unit in the kitchen available for your use.
Sleeping arrangements:
● Master (sleeps 2): features a queen bed with Tuft & Needle mattress and pillows, along with plenty of closet space.
● 2nd bedroom / office (sleeps 2): this room is set up as a bedroom/office with a desk workstation as well as a queen sleeper sofa.
● Main living area (sleeps 1): the living area has one large couch available to sleep on.
Bathroom:
● The bathroom has a shower/tub combo and a double vanity.
Here are some tips for getting around:
● Book your flight with United Airlines to the Northern Colorado Regional Airport (FNL) and they’ll fly you into Denver and give you a shuttle ride to FNL. When you leave, you’ll go through security and check your bags at FNL so no long waits at Denver International Airport!
● There are car rental agencies in Loveland and Fort Collins
● Uber & Lyft are always a good option
● Greenride (Groome Transportation) offers shuttle services from Denver International Airport
● Turo (the AirBnb of rental vehicles)
