Positive: All in all, we really really enjoyed our stay at the villa. Here are the pluses: - Cleanliness. The villa was absolutely spotless when we arrived and the cleaning lady came up once every 3 days to clean. Every time she did an absolutely amazing job, the place looked like new. She definitely deserves a raise. - Appliances and amenities. You'll find almost everything you want and everything works perfectly. - Decor and space. The villa looks better in person than in pictures, it's tastefully decorated and it's bigger that it looks. - Amiability and understanding. The people that managed the villa were really nice when we interacted to them face to face and non-intrusive. Also, when we dumbly broke the sliding mechanism for the kitchen trash can, we communicated this to them, they quickly repaired it and didn't demand anything from us.
Negative: And here are the minuses: - Hot water: We struggled to get any hot water for showering in the morning. Because it's solar generated, if you don't have a completely sunny day, you're gonna have to take a cold shower in the morning. That wouldn't be a problem if you're already boiling at 9AM, but we weren't. - Shower drains: Naturally, salt and sand quickly clog the drains. We were careful to wash ourselves before getting into the shower, but it's impossible to clean every residue. And the drains got clogged because of a lack of thorough cleaning. - Wi-Fi: Zakynthos is renowned for having poor Wi-Fi. But the Wi-Fi at the villa was absolutely atrocious. So you shouldn't rely on it. On a positive side, the mobile data still worked. - Noise: It's not in any way the host's fault, but you should expect roosters screaming from 2AM and dogs incessantly barking all through the morning. Once you get accustomed to it though, it becomes more of a lullaby.
Summary: A modern, clean and spacious villa, that you'll love if you're not the pickiest person in the world.
