In recent times Invermay has become arguably Launceston’s trendiest suburb due to it’s convenient location and gorgeous character homes juxtaposed with an industrial vibe. With real estate prices rivalling Launceston’s leafy green and established white collar suburbs, Invermay’s working class roots are becoming a thing of the past. It’s important to note that parts of Invermay are industrial and Forster Street is a main road where the traffic can be noisy in the early weekday mornings. If you are a light sleeper who enjoys sleeping in this may not be the locale for you. Most Launcestonians travel by car. There is parking at the front of the property and there is generally no problems with keeping your spot except for AFL game days. Aurora stadium, the city and UTAS Inveresk campus are all within easy walking distance however there is a good bus service into the city in nearby Invermay Road. Try Blue Social and Me Wah Restaurant- both close by and neither will disappoint. I recommend making a booking in advance.
