Positive: The room and bathroom are nicely and newly decorated, and the shower pressure is WOW. Water boiler, tea/coffee, as needed. 5min walk to the bus stations and the docks, lots of good places around to eat and have coffee or breakfast. Nice neighborhood if you want a change from the Sultanahmet area, walking distance to Besiktas and a nice park. Kind and accomodating host, although he doesn't speak English too well so the communication is a bit difficult at times, but it can all be solved with a quick online translation :)
Negative: The room we had was on the ground floor, and the street noise (cars/motorbikes + a shop right across the window where people gather all the time during working hours) was very strong during the day and sometimes at night. If you are a light sleeper, you are going to be bothered for sure (even if upstairs, unless it faces the other way). There are economy rooms in the basement, which are probably much quieter. Otherwise the hotel was great, and we did enjoy our stay.
