In addition to a well-equipped kitchen, glass doors from the living room and master bedroom with a King bed opens to a deck which has a large stone fireplace. The other bedroom has a Queen and you have a view of the front gardens.
The village of Bernard is a short walk away. A trail through the woods takes you to Thurston's Wharf for lobster dinner or to Island Astronomy for some star-gazing. Summary: To start with the owner is amazingly clear and up front about your stay on the property. He communicated very well and was very responsive to our questions. I can't thank Marty enough for that, really great. The property is in a secluded location with tons of privacy. This northern climate oasis is a incredible place to go to recharge our batteries and escape into nature. With wildlife right at your doorstep you are only moments away from all the things you would expect from staying on Mount Desert Island. If you are lucky you will have nature's guest join you, like deer and eagles. The location is just a stone's throw from several great lobster lunches, we tried three while we were there. I have to say Travelin' Lobster won the contest, but they were all really great. Finally one of the best parts of the location was that we were close enough to really enjoy Acadia National Park and all it had to offer, but also just far enough to get away from the crowds when it was too busy. This place is truly a gem and I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. Thank you Marty for being so welcoming to us, until next time.... Deb & Doug
