Positive: We stayed at Maison Abeil as a base to explore the Ecrins and Queyras parks and hikes in the area. We very much enjoyed our stay, which felt less like a hotel and more like a true home stay. Our very welcoming, thoughtful and helpful hosts greeted us warmly, prepared a wonderful breakfast every morning, including freshly baked muffins and home-made jam from the fruits in the garden, and gave us a feeling of being welcome in a local's home. The house is an old farmhouse with history within the owner's family that has been renovated and updated with taste and care, retaining the sense of tradition and quality but offering modern comforts. We thoroughly enjoyed the warmth of the owners, the comfortable base for hiking, and the quiet and peace of the house and area.
