Circa 1885 is a beautifully renovated, historic, open-floorplan home in downtown Santa Fe only a few blocks from the City Plaza, Canyon Road, Railyard District, museums, concert halls and the NM State Capitol Building. The home is spacious with 11'-12' high ceilings that welcome in the beautiful Santa Fe light, a modern full kitchen with dishwasher and gas range, a kiva instant on gas fireplace for cozy evenings and a private portal (porch) for sunny afternoons. The massive center adobe wall that divides the living space from the bedroom and bath was lovingly saved, reinforced and plastered as a sculptural homage to the home's legacy. Furnishings include a 19th Century Austrian Walnut wardrobe, luxurious solid wood four poster queen bed, an antique marble-topped vanity retrofitted with a vessel sink, Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams love seat and original lithographs from the 2019 Student Portfolio of UNM's prestigious Tamarind Institute. Our commercial laundry service – the same laundry service used by most high-end hotels in Northern New Mexico - uses unscented, hypoallergenic detergent and extremely hot water. Sheets are lightly starched and ironed at 385 degrees.

Summary: Husband and I visit Santa Fe frequently and this is our favorite place to stay. The home is small, but all we need as a couple. Without being right on the square, the location can't be beat. We always walk to our favorite spots near the plaza or in the railyard. No more than 10 minutes to get there. June 2025 was our second stay here and we would absolutely do it again.
