Positive: Beautiful spacious rooms, with excellent service. The hospitality and kindness of the staff but also villagers in nearby surroundings is like we’ve never seen before. I can say we’ve made friends and they will be certainly see us back at Villa Pateh one day. When we first arrived we really looked at each other wondering if we died and went to heaven. We had seen the pictures but the place was surreal as we walked around in the homely decorated house with the calm piano music at the background. As vegans the meals were something we were slightly worried about on the first day -when we found out they mainly served local fish and meat dishes at the hotel. (which I believe would be amazing for non vegans I’m sure) But the management were so kind and helpful that the next day they found delicious solutions to make the local dishes with tofu, tempeh, mushrooms and whatnot. If you want a taste of the real Thailand, want to meet local people and if you are interested in their culture and way of living then this is the place to be. I’d thought I’d write a book as review about how an amazing time we’ve had at this place but I don’t want to ruin other people’s first impression either. Let’s say it was one of the most surprising, unexpected and uncommon holiday experience of our lives. I certainly would’ve stayed a little longer to get to know some more of these lovely locals and experience some more of that simple happiness of just being.
