Positive: Whilst this corner of Germany might not be an obvious holiday destination for the family (family of 4; 2 teens), it proved a great base for a “lakes, mountains and cities” across Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Markdorf is a great little town, with everything you need - supermarket, couple of good restaurants and a decent coffee shop. The property itself is really well-equipped and spacious - both teens happy with separate rooms and king-size beds.
Negative: Only a couple of very minor inconveniences - could have done with slightly better lighting in the bathrooms; a broom / dustpan and brush would have been handy just to sweep up crumbs after breakfast; a few additional kitchen essentials such as salt, pepper, olive oil, oven gloves, tea towel. But, as I said, very minor inconveniences and did not at all detract from a fantastic holiday
